Teal Narraway - Assistant Program Director

Teal Narraway

Assistant Program Director

Teal is a passionate educator, adventurer, and traveller. She loves to engage in the natural world and believes in its power to inspire, challenge, and stir reflection in us all.

Teal was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada where her love for the outdoors grew through canoeing, camping, and participating in projects at a wetlands complex west of the city. Before graduating high school, Teal spent a summer as a Junior Park Ranger where her passion for nature and hiking enhanced her direction to outdoor education.

Teal completed her Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Physical Education degrees at Brock University in Ontario where she also played varsity Rugby. Since then, she has worked with the Ministry of Sport in El Salvador, three years as an outdoor educator in Australia, and has taught in China, the UK, and Canada. Teaching has allowed Teal to travel the world picking up new hobbies, outdoor certifications, and a thirst for new adventures.

Teal continues to find ways of bringing the outdoors into her teaching and hopes one day to run an outdoor program for students in Ontario. This is her first year with Adventure Canada where she hopes to gain more knowledge about Canada’s Indigenous peoples and their connection with the northern environment. On her weekends off, you can find Teal hiking, mountain biking, paddling, bouldering, or camping somewhere by a fire.
