Heather is a globe-trotting artist, who loves to spread her passion for Inuit artists and their creativity by sharing their art with Adventure Canada’s passengers and beyond.

Heather has worked with Canadian artists and galleries, both commercial and public, since 1980.

Her career in the world of ART started in Buffalo, USA, and has taken her all over the world, marketing Inuit and Canadian artists and their art works. Professionally trained in current Canadian appraisal theory, principles, procedures, and ethics, Heather has earned an International Society of Appraisers (ISA) designation.

As a past president of the Womens’ Art Association of Canada, Heather’s expertise is particular to Canadian Art. She worked in Winnipeg at the Winnipeg Art Gallery and as a buyer for the Gallery Shoppes. She also served on the Board of Governors as a representative of the Volunteer Committee from 1981- 1999.

Heather’s expertise and passion for Inuit art was realized through her employment with Arctic Cooperatives, throughout 1990’s to the present.

Having worked for many years in commercial galleries in USA and Canada, she is very familiar with the commercial world of ART. Providing her with organizational skills, Heather has conducted numerous Art Gallery Tours in USA, Winnipeg, and Southern Ontario. She currently runs her own Art Marketing and Appraisal Consultation Business from Guelph, Ontario, as well as lecturing in Canadian ART…First Nations, Inuit, and the art of local Canadian artists. Lecturing in these areas of Canadian art has provided Heather the opportunity to share her expertise with many groups around Ontario. She has also written a chapter in a book entitled Tuvaq, Inuit Art and the Modern World, on the Inuit Co-operative Art Marketing system entitled, “Reflections from Inside the Co-operative.”

As an art advisor to Adventure Canada, Heather is privileged to travel throughout Arctic Canada and beyond. For several years, she has conducted art tours in Vancouver and further into Haida Gwaii on smaller sailing vessels. As a buyer for the Gallery onboard the Ocean Endeavour, Heather continues her passion for Inuit artists and their creativity by sharing their art with Adventure Canada’s passengers!

Heather lives in Guelph, where she is enjoying being close to her son and granddaughter. She is active in the “art” world around her city and beyond in Southern Ontario and across Canada.
