Cathy Nolan

Assistant Program Director

A lifelong learner, Cathy believes in nurturing curiosity through exploring natural spaces, reading, and meeting new people.

Cathy’s thirst for adventure has taken her from singing karaoke on Borneo, to watching an outdoor soccer game with a backdrop of icebergs in Qeqertarsuaq, Greenland. She loves the North and has visited the Canadian Arctic, the Torngat Mountains in Newfoundland and Labrador, and Sable Island off the coast of Nova Scotia.

Although she now lives in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Cathy is proud to call Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, her hometown. Gander was celebrated in the Broadway musical, Come from Away, which tells the story of the kindness and generosity the town’s people offered to stranded passengers on September 11, 2001.

Cathy is a retired educator who enjoys searching for whales, puffins, and icebergs along the exquisite coastal trails near her home in St John's.
