Jen Derbach

Jen is an adventurous soul who loves to learn through experiences and is passionate about sharing her love of nature through the art of photography.
Growing up in a military family, Jen is used to being on the move. She spent a lot of her younger years travelling with her family across Europe and North America. After attending Carleton University and graduating with a degree in sociology, she decided to stay in Ottawa and begin her career there.
Jen fills her days as a business development advisor in the insurance industry and her nights running a successful photography business. Her passion for photography started with Adventure Canada when she completed the Newfoundland Circumnavigation expedition in 2016.

At home, she gained experience through sport and concert photography and is now the photographer in residence for the National Arts Centre, department of dance, in Ottawa. She has photographed everything from professional and national sports teams to big acts like Sarah McLachlan, Alessia Cara, and international dance companies. She is also a published wildlife photographer with her images featured in both Canadian Geographic and Cottage Life magazines, and is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society.
