Jennifer Derbach

Photographer

Jennifer loves to learn through experiences and is passionate about sharing her love of nature through the art of photography.

Growing up in a military family, Jennifer has gotten used to being on the move. After attending Carleton University and graduating with a degree in sociology, she decided to stay in Ottawa and begin her career there.

Her passion for photography started on board the Ocean Endeavor when she completed the Newfoundland Circumnavigation expedition in 2016. At home, she gained experience through sports and concert photography. She has photographed everything from professional sports teams to big acts like Sarah McLachlan, Alessia Cara, and Cirque du Soleil. Currently, she holds the position of Photographer-in-Residence for the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, working with their dance department.

She never left her love of the outdoors behind, continuing to focus on capturing beautiful landscapes and wildlife. Travelling and seeking new experiences have always been a top priority for Jennifer. During the pandemic, she decided to do more with her photography and launched a successful buff company. Each buff is designed with images carefully selected from her portfolio.

Jennifer's images have been featured in magazine publications such as Canadian Geographic and Cottage Life. Recently, she has also been featured in an episode of the Bell Fibe program, My Story My Lens, where she speaks about her love for the outdoors, exploring, and photography. Jennifer looks forward to travelling with Adventure Canada every year to share this passion with everyone on board!
