Daniel Freeze

Expedition Leader, Assistant Expedition Leader, Kayak Guide

Dan is an avid outdoorsman who spends as much time as possible pursuing adventure. He loves backcountry skiing, climbing, and the thrill of polar travel.

Join Daniel Freeze on the following trips:

Dan's first trip with Adventure Canada was as a sixteen-year-old accompanying his dad, company founding member Dave Freeze. He joined the roster officially a few years later on board the Sea Adventurer running jobs as gofer and being trained to drive Zodiacs.

Dan attended Thompson Rivers University's Adventure Guide Diploma and subsequently completed a bachelor of interdisciplinary studies, taking courses in biology, geography, geology, anthropology, adventure, and outdoor education; a degree he designed to further develop his skills as a guide.

Throughout his studies, Dan spent summers travelling on board and feels very lucky to have seen so many remote and wonderful parts of the world. Since graduating, Dan has pursued a winter in backcountry ski guiding, recently obtaining certification through the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides.

In his free time, Dan likes to mountain bike, ski, skateboard, camp, and spend time around Nelson, British Columbia, where he calls home.
