Search for the rare and majestic spirit bear
Venture into the territories of the Gitga’at First Nation in search of the elusive spirit bear, also known as the Kermode bear. Fewer than 400 of these rare, white-furred black bears exist in the world, found only in the Great Bear Rainforest.
Sacred to the Gitga’at peoples and vital to the local ecosystem, spirit bears embody the deep connection between land, wildlife, and Indigenous culture. With the guidance of local knowledge holders, witness this extraordinary animal in one of the most pristine ecosystems on Earth.
