Expedition Team

Marie-Lou has been an active community member advocating for environmental education and sustainable tourism

Originally from Montreal, Marie-Lou roamed Australia, Southeast Asia, Europe, and South America before establishing herself in the Galapagos Islands, where she has resided for most of her adult life. Parallel to her various positions in the tourism industry—scuba Instructor and guide, itinerary designer, hospitality manager, and travel experience delivery coach—she has been an active community member advocating for environmental education and sustainable tourism. She relocated to Vancouver Island in 2018 to allow her family to reconnect with its Canadian roots and to provide a more global perspective and education for her sons.

Her previous role in the Canadian tourism industry involved overseeing overall delivery quality, refining itineraries, and establishing partnerships with locals and First Nation community members to create authentic, impactful, and meaningful experiences for travelers.

She joined Adventure Canada in 2023 and is eager to support its endeavors, as well as widen its travel repertoire.

In her free time, you can usually find her near or in the water practicing freediving, scuba diving, kayaking, and sailing. She is a yoga instructor and eternal student, as well as a massage therapy practitioner. In the winter she finds refuge in the mountains, snowshoeing and skiing.
