Maeva Esteva

Expedition Team

From the vibrant cultures of France and Polynesia to the rugged wilderness of the Yukon, Maeva lives a life deeply connected to nature, art, and adventure.

Maeva was born in France and moved to the Island of Huahine in French Polynesia at the age of nine. There, she grew up immersed in both French and Polynesian cultures, forging a deep connection with both the natural world and human nature.

After studying in France in the health and sport fields and being a teacher in French Polynesia, she finally moved to the Yukon thirteen years ago. She was looking for more wilderness, space, and cold weather. She explored the land by foot, sled dog, horses, canoe, snowshoeing, and skis, and fell in love with the area and the people.

She now lives in the tiny house she built off-grid in the boreal forest. She spends her time harvesting wild mushrooms in the forest for her business, painting wildlife to share her poetic view of the world we live in, teaching Tahitian dance to share the culture she grew up in, and being in the bush for expeditions or on the sea on a sailboat (Greenland, Labrador, Atlantic, Pacific).
