Lynda is a passionate Inuk woman from Panniqtuuq, Nunavut, who currently resides in Ottawa, Ontario with her husband and three children. She has dedicated her life to sharing Inuit culture, advocating for Inuit child welfare and housing issues, and promoting cross-cultural understanding.
Lynda's education, job, and expertise are all closely tied to her role as the alumni team lead at the Students on Ice Foundation and lead member of the Siqiniup Qilauta (Sun's Drum) performance group. As a Royal Canadian Geographic Fellow and with twenty-five years of experience performing and presenting on Inuit culture, Lynda is a respected and knowledgeable voice in her community.
Lynda's connection to Adventure Canada began in 2012 when she travelled with them on several Arctic expeditions. Through these experiences, she developed a deep appreciation for the power of expedition travel to inspire curiosity and understanding about the natural world and diverse cultures.
In her spare time, Lynda enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and continuing to learn about Inuit culture and history. On a typical weekend, you might find her volunteering in her community, attending cultural events, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with a good book.
