In 2017, Fran moved to Melbourne, Australia, embarked on a career shift there, and immersed herself in hospitality, tourism, and events. However, the global pandemic in 2020 presented unforeseen challenges. Fran reassessed her career path during the lockdown period, with the hospitality and tourism sectors significantly impacted. During this time, she decided to take a gap year from her work and pursue a postgraduate degree in Sustainable Tourism and Global Challenge at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Immersed in the rich academic environment, she actively engages in her studies, deepening her understanding of sustainable practices within the tourism sector and exploring innovative solutions to global challenges. She is writing her dissertation about Determining the Natural Seasonality of Tourism in Edinburgh, Orkney Islands, and Reykjavík, Iceland.

In her leisure time, despite being far away from home, Fran indulges in her passion for cooking, particularly Indonesian cuisine. Additionally, she enjoys re-watching Studio Ghibli and Wes Anderson movies with her husband, allowing herself moments of relaxation and inspiration.
