Sheila is a dedicated teacher and lifelong crafter, passionate about sharing Inuit language, culture, and traditions with warmth.

Sheila was born and raised in Pangnirtung, Nunavut, and has resided in Iqaluit, Nunavut, for over twenty-five years.  

Throughout her life, Sheila has worked with various Inuit organizations. She currently works at the Nunavut Arctic College as an instructor in their Inuit culture and language program.  

As a lifelong crafter, Sheila enjoys sewing and has taught sewing courses in both Nunavut and Greenland. Sheila also enjoys woodworking and foraging for plants and berries.  

While on board, Sheila hopes to teach people Inuktitut words and looks forward to returning to Pangnirtung. She welcomes opportunities to learn about other cultures! Don’t hesitate to approach her; she is happy to talk to you!
