Shavanna was born in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, and grew up in Kugaaruk Nunavut. Currently residing in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Shavanna contributed to the children's book Sapa and Martha Make an Amaut in 2019 and graduated high school on September 14, 2019. She furthered her education graduating from Nunavut Sivuniksavut on May 18, 2023, and is currently studying at the Nunavut Teacher Education Program in Iqaluit, where she plans to complete her first year.
In her free time, Shavanna enjoys hand sewing, visiting her fiancée’s parents, and learning more about her culture. An adopted child, Shavanna is loved by both her biological and adoptive parents and is a proud auntie to thirteen nephews, seven nieces, three great-nieces, and three great-nephews.
She has thirteen tattoos and is always happy to share the stories behind them.
Excited to embark on her first journey with Adventure Canada, Shavanna looks forward to making new friends and cherishes the possibility of meeting again in the future.
