Noah Nochasak
Inuit Cultural Educator, Kayak Guide
Noah brings a background in science, sea kayak guiding, expedition travel, and kayak building, alongside a strong interest in Inuit kayak traditions.
Noah is an Inuk from Nain, Nunatsiavut, who grew up in Cree, Oji-Cree, and Ojibway communities in northern Ontario while maintaining family connections to Labrador. His background includes outdoor guiding, expedition travel, and sea kayak instruction, with experience on the coast of northern Labrador and British Columbia. He enjoys sharing practical knowledge and helping people understand the places they visit.
Kayak building and history are central interests for Noah. He has helped build sixteen skin-on-frame kayaks, and his research into Labrador kayak traditions has taken him to Rennes, France. His work on a Nunatsiavut Government-funded kayak book combines hands-on experience with Inuit knowledge and historical research.
His outdoor experience includes hunting polar bears, seals, birds, and caribou, along with the use of firearms in the field. His training includes sea kayak guiding, Paddle Canada instruction and instructor training, rafting, and swift-water rescue. Noah also holds an Adventure Guide diploma, a bachelor of science in biology, and a bachelor of arts degree.
