Navarana K'avigak' Sørensen was born in northwest Greenland. She has worked as an interpreter and is a talented drum dancer.

Navarana K'avigak' Sørensen was born in Uummannaq, Thule in northwest Greenland in 1947. Navarana’s education and professional background focuses on translating and interpretation in Greenland.

Navarana became heavily focused in drum dancing in 1987 when her late cousin Qulutanguaq Jeremiassen needed help giving schoolchildren training in drum dance. From this point forward, they performed together many times for special occasions.

Storytelling was a large part and an enjoyment of Navarana’s childhood as her family gather around her mother Amaúnalik who was a gifted storyteller.

Today, Navarana has retired and moved to Denmark in April 2019. Navarana still loves to travel the world and perform.
