Canada’s premier Arctic traveler, photojournalist Jerry Kobalenko has logged sixteen thousand kilometres on the Arctic over forty skiing, hiking, and kayaking expeditions.

Both a photographer and a writer, Jerry’s work appears around the world in such publications as National Geographic, Outsideand Condé Nast Traveler. His book, The Horizontal Everest, …is refreshingly free of the hubris that marks much adventure writing,” writes The New York Times Book Review. “The reader never feels assaulted by Kobalenko’s daring, only inspired by it.” He is currently finishing a literary travel book on Labrador.

In 2018, the Canadian government awarded Jerry the Polar Medal in recognition of his love, passion, and knowledge of Canada’s North, which he shares through his many writings and talks.

When he is not on an extreme journey, Jerry lives in Canmore, Alberta with his wife Alexandra, with whom he shares many adventures.
