Dr. Stephanie Graves

Researcher-in-Residence

An ecotoxicologist studying the fate and effects of contaminants in remote ecosystems.

Stephanie is a proud Maritimer, born in New Brunswick and currently living in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She works as a postdoctoral fellow at McMaster University, where she studies the fate and effects of contaminants on aquatic ecosystems.

As part of her postdoctoral research, Stephanie is particularly interested in the contamination of remote, high-latitude regions that are often understudied. With Adventure Canada, she will investigate microplastic pollution in Iceland’s water and sediment to assess current exposure levels and support ongoing Arctic monitoring efforts.

An avid naturalist, Stephanie spends much of her free time exploring the outdoors and enjoys canoeing, hiking, and biking.
