Barbara is a Newfoundland and Labrador cultural educator passionate about Indigenous tourism, storytelling, community connection, and unforgettable travel experiences.

Barbara is a cultural educator, tourism professional, and expedition guide based in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. With more than three decades of experience in sales, marketing, hospitality, and tourism throughout Canada and the United States, she is passionate about creating welcoming and memorable travel experiences rooted in culture, community, and connection.

Barbara has extensive experience in Indigenous tourism and cultural interpretation. Through her work with the Newfoundland and Labrador Indigenous Tourism Association, she has developed a strong understanding of Indigenous tourism experiences connected to the three Indigenous groups of Newfoundland and Labrador. As communications director with the Mi’kmaw Heritage Research Restoration Association, she has helped support language revitalization initiatives while sharing Mi’kmaw history, culture, and perspectives guided by Elders and knowledge keepers.

Her work with Downhome Magazine and Explore Travel Guide allowed Barbara to travel extensively throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, visiting communities across the province and developing a deep appreciation for its people, traditions, landscapes, and stories. She has also led educational and cultural tours for small groups, including Indigenous-themed experiences.  

Known for her approachable nature and calm leadership style, Barbara enjoys connecting guests with the spirit of Newfoundland and Labrador through storytelling, local insight, and meaningful cultural experiences. She is also a certified Level One Sommelier, wellness group leader, and enthusiastic lifelong learner who loves sharing the places and people that make the province unique.
