Susan Fiedler

Assistant Program Director

Susan is an award-winning jewellery designer and world traveller. Her passion is creating for worthy causes while exploring the globe on both land and sea.

Susan’s life at sea began as a teenager while crewing on commercial fishing vessels. Most recently, as a former Canadian Coast Guard, she sailed from Victoria, B.C. through the Northwest Passage aboard the Icebreaker CCGS Sir Wilfrid Laurier known for discovering the lost Franklin Expedition in 2014.

Previously, she founded Soul Flower, which grew to become one of Canada's leading design houses of sterling silver jewellery. After selling her business in 2010, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of travelling the world by sailboat while focusing entirely on social ventures.

When she isn’t on the water, Susan can be found at Silver Star, Canada’s third-largest ski resort, skiing the slopes and trails right outside her doorstep.

Susan loves to build relationships and connect people to each other and the natural world. She believes in leaving the world a better place than she found it and is always seeking to make a positive contribution wherever she goes.
