Before joining Adventure Canada, Jean advised the Quebec Government Tourism Office on US and Canadian market strategy and coordinating cross-border operations.

Before joining Adventure Canada, Jean advised the Quebec Government Tourism Office on US and Canadian market strategy, coordinating cross-border operations and implementing inter-provincial joint marketing agreements for foreign markets. He spent several years in New York City as Director of Tourism for the Government of Quebec.

Jean began career as a tour director in western Europe, and he also taught at the Management School of Université du Québec à Montréal and at LaSalle College. In the tourism world for over forty-two years, Jean is now focusing on developing strategic partnerships within the North American market for Adventure Canada, with a special interest in alumni connections.

Jean sits on the Executive Advisory Board of the Educational Travel Conference and is a member of the International Council of Monuments and Sites, the National Trust for Canada, Héritage Montreal, and Action Patrimoine. He was recognized by the Educational Travel Conference for his contribution to the advancement of learning and enrichment travel within the US travel trade and the Canadian tourism industry. A mid-career fellow at the School of Foreign Service of Georgetown University (Washington DC), Jean is particularly interested in cultural history and global issues.
