Devon grew up on Kingsford Lake bordering Frontenac Provincial Park, located north of a small town in Ontario called Sydenham. Growing up in the country fostered her love for the outdoors. She split time between completing her degree in Political Science from the University of Ottawa and coaching and competing in sprint kayak and canoe. After the completion of her MA in Public Policy and Administration from Ryerson University, she spent four years travelling the world.
Devon taught English in Taiwan, travelled through Asia, Central, and South America, and worked in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. After returning to Canada in 2011, she focused on the travel industry. Devon joined Adventure Canada in 2013, and quickly fell in love with the North. She is now a part of the full-time sales team in the head office, where she helps clients experience the magnificence of these areas of the world. Devon also works aboard Adventure Canada expeditions as a Program Director and as a member of the expedition team.
