As a co-founder of Adventure Canada, Bill’s remains awed and deeply appreciative of the amazing next generation of his family that makes the company what it is today. This admiration includes the extended ‘family’ of passionate, intelligent and inspiring people who have and continue to work for AC and the guests who travel with us on these outstanding expeditions. Forging new partnerships, developing and launching the Taste of Place food program and Adventure Canada’s sustainability plan are his current assignments.
In addition to his time with Adventure Canada, Bill manages Greenman Sustainable Solutions, a consulting company through which he has pursued a wide range of projects in community development, natural history, public gardens and greenhouses, community festivals, regenerative economics, climate action, renewable energy, green building, composting and living soil. He enjoys outdoor pursuits, travel, cooking, tasting!, gardening, fishing and a totally irrational interest in tropical orchids and ice hockey, (the Toronto Maple Leafs in particular - yup, weird combo and he’s seeking help).
As Director of Solar Now, a current project with Clean Energy Canada, Bill oversees the development, communications and education programs associated with the installation of solar photovoltaic energy on public buildings, schools, community centres and electric vehicle charging networks. Over the past 3 years Solar Now has helped install over $2 million in solar renewable energy production in 16 British Columbia communities. If you have 4 or 5 hours, ask him about his Model 3 Tesla.
Bill, Ally and their daughters Ella and Shannon built their rural solar home on 40 acres on the BC side of the Rocky Mountains and are now exploring life on Vancouver Island.
Let’s have a cup of tea and imagine what we’ll do next!
