Anne Eunson
Fibre Arts Program Ambassador
Anne is a Shetland-born lace knitter and designer with a bachelor of arts in contemporary textiles.
Anne is a Shetland-based lace knitter, designer, and textile artist whose roots run deep in the islands' rich traditions. Born and raised in Shetland, she has spent her life immersed in the natural beauty, close-knit communities, and enduring craft heritage of the place she calls home. Anne was taught to knit by her mother before she even began school—a moment that sparked a lifelong passion for creating with her hands.
Over the years, that early love of making evolved into a deep, thoughtful practice centred on lace knitting, a tradition long associated with Shetland’s textile legacy. With a bachelor of arts in contemporary textiles, Anne blends time-honoured techniques with her own creative vision, designing patterns that speak to both heritage and innovation. Her work reflects a strong sense of place, often inspired by the landscape, weather, and rhythms of island life.
When she’s not knitting or designing, Anne enjoys tending to her garden, heading out fishing, and gathering with friends to play music—simple, grounding joys that feed her creativity and keep her connected to the land and people around her. Her work is a celebration of tradition, craft, and the quiet power of handmade things.
