Adventure Canada Recommends: “Slow Photography: Images with Intent” by Dennis Minty

Dennis Minty has worked as a photographer and naturalist for over twenty-five years. In his new 240-page ebook, Dennis shares valuable guidance about the practice of slow photography, used for the dual purpose of capturing great images and enjoying personal fulfillment as a photographer.

"Slow photography is an attitude, an approach, a philosophy, and a methodology,” Dennis writes. “It’s about slowing down, being thoughtful and reflective, considerate, and intentional. It strives towards authenticity and connection and transforms photography from reflex to ritual.”

Many of the stunning photos featured in the book were taken on travels that Dennis took with Adventure Canada.

Adventure Canada is a Phoenix Award Winner!

Adventure Canada is humbled to announce we’ve been chosen as a recipient of the prestigious Society of American Travel Writers 2021 Phoenix Award, in recognition of our commitment to training, employment, and capacity building in Inuit Nunangat. Over 50% of our expeditions operate within Inuit homelands and we have a long history of working alongside Inuit to offer travel experiences that empower Inuit and grow understanding and compassion between cultures. One recent example is Jason Edmund's leadership of NALUNAIQSIJIIT: Inuit Cruise Training Initiative, established by the Government of Nunavut to increase numbers of Inuit working in the marine tourism industry.
