Giving Back

Adventure Canada has always focused on giving back. We believe sustainable travel is part of securing a healthy economic outlook for the communities and regions we visit—but we also know we can do more.

So far, we have:

  • Donated approximately $500,000 to environmental conservation organizations and
    projects.
  • Provided over $1 million in in-kind support for our Researchers-in-Residence and Young
    Explorers programs.
  • Donated over $1 million in support to the Students on Ice Foundation.
  • Supported Project North, which has delivered over $370,000 of sports equipment to Inuit communities aboard Adventure Canada voyages

Flanked by members of Project North and Adventure Canada, northern youth pose with new hockey gear.

With our extensive connections and deep relationships, we are able to identify and contribute to a wide variety of causes every year. These range from supporting charitable partners like the BirdLife International and Students on Ice, to providing emergency funding “on the ground”—for example, when homes in François, NL were washed into the sea.

Adventure Canada passengers help sort hockey gear for distribution in a northern community.

Adventure Canada also provides non-monetary resources, such as cargo space on our planes and ships to organizations like Project North, which brings sports equipment to youth in the Arctic, and Students on Ice, which provides youth from north and south opportunities to travel together in the polar regions.
