    Day 1–2: Panama City, Panama
    Begin Your Adventure

    Arrive at your leisure in Panama City and make your way to the American Trade Hotel to settle in. Meet your fellow travellers over breakfast the following morning and begin your day exploring the historic Casco Viejo (old town) neighbourhood on a guided walking tour. Board your complimentary shuttle headed to the M/S Panorama, awaiting you at the Colón 2000 Terminal on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

    Day 3: Lake Gatún and Fort San Lorenzo UNESCO World Heritage Site
    Visit a Historical Fort

    All aboard to transit the locks of Lake Gatún and begin the first leg of your seaward journey. Enjoy the on-board education program and scenic views on deck as you cruise. Take an excursion to Fort San Lorenzo, a Spanish colonial ruin and UNESCO World Heritage Site, with possibilities for spotting birds and sloths along the way.

    Day 4: The Panama Canal
    Transit an Iconic Waterway

    Complete your transit through the final locks of the Panama Canal: gateway to the Pacific Ocean! Depart from the marina for a guided tour at the Panama Canal Museum and the fascinating Miraflores Locks.

    Day 5: Playa Muerto, Darién National Park
    Visit an Emberá Indigenous Community

    Journey into the lowland tropical forests of Darién National Park for an excursion to a traditional Emberá community, one of the seven Indigenous nations within Panama. Receive a warm welcome, watch a cultural performance, and appreciate the beautiful handicrafts and traditions.

    Day 6: Isla Coiba National Park & Marine Preserve, Panama
    Enjoy a Nature Lover's Paradise & Tour a Historic Prison

    Learn the poignant history of Isla Coiba’s penal colony, which housed Panama’s most notorious criminals and political prisoners for more than ninety years. Choose the guided walk that suits you best, spotting bird species as you go, in this natural paradise that retains 80% of its original forest cover—and our last stop in Panama! Relax by the beach or strap on your snorkel for views of the largest coral reef in the Eastern Pacific.

    Day 7: Puerto Jiménez – Golfo Dulce, Costa Rica
    Observe Tropical Plants & Parrots

    Visit the Casa Orquideas (House of Orchids) for a peek at the region’s botanical delights, including orchids, heliconia, and bromeliads. Get your camera and binoculars ready to spot wild scarlet macaws, who are regular visitors to the jungles surrounding Puerto Jiménez. This small town in the southern region of the Puntarenas province is also a historic gold mining and logging community.

    Day 8: Bahía Drake and Corcovado National Park
    Commune with Creatures Great and Small

    Hike at Corcovado National Park, the largest park in Costa Rica, covering almost a third of the Osa Peninsula. National Geographic has called Corcovado “the most biologically intense place on Earth in terms of biodiversity.” Embark on a mangrove cruise through the ecologically rich Sierpe River. Nearby is Bahía Drake, known to be a common wintering and breeding ground for humpback whales.

    Day 9: Curú and Isla Tortuga
    Swim & Snorkel in Crystal Clear Waters

    Set sail for the paradise island of Isla Tortuga to indulge in a delicious beach barbeque and a swim or snorkel in crystal clear waters. Opt for a fascinating birding excursion through the Curú Wildlife Refuge, led by local park rangers and our team of naturalists.

    Day 10: Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park
    Spot Charming Wildlife

    Choose the activity you like best: an aerial forest canopy tour or a visit to the quaint town of Quepos. Delight in wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities at Manuel Antonio National Park, home to plentiful white-faced capuchin, howler, and squirrel monkeys, as well as deer and sloths.

    Day 11: Puerto Caldera
    Wave a Fond Farewell

    Disembark the M/S Panorama and soak up the sun at our all-inclusive Fiesta Resort hotel, located on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast near the small town of Puntarenas. Enjoy some time unwinding by the pool before we gather for our farewell dinner and toast to a wonderful voyage.

    Day 12: San José, Costa Rica
    Set off on Your Onward Journey

    Board your complimentary group transfer to the airport for your flight home or choose to extend your stay in Costa Rica. San José, the country’s capital, is nestled within the Central Valley region, with the Talamanca Mountains to the south and volcanoes to the north.

The Panorama is a three-masted Motorsailer launched in 1993 and rebuilt in 2001, last renovated in 2014. Upper deck cabins and lounge, and main deck cabin en suite bathrooms and lounge have been refitted.

  • Cruise Payments, hotels, pre/post enhancements: International Cruise fares are priced in US dollars and are per person, per Cruise. A $2,000 USD deposit per person, per cruise is required to register. Your final balance for the Cruise is due 120 days prior to the scheduled departure date (“Departure Date”). All late payments are subject to a penalty of 1.5% interest per month, or 18% per annum. Adventure Canada reserves the right to cancel your booking if it is not paid within 120 days of the Departure Date or deny boarding due to any unpaid balances, without a refund to you. Hotels offered through Adventure Canada are a third-party service and require full payment at the time of booking. If cancelled more than 120 days before your Departure Date, $50 USD per hotel room will be non-refundable. Within 120 days of your Departure Date, the hotels will be non-refundable. Future Travel Credits do not apply to and will not be issued for hotel bookings.
  • Travel Insurance: A minimum of Emergency Medical and Evacuation Insurance is mandatory for participation in all Adventure Canada Cruises. You must carry a minimum of $500,000 USD per person emergency medical and evacuation coverage. This may not cover the full cost of a medical emergency. All medical and evacuation expenses are your sole responsibility. Any losses you sustain as a result of not having sufficient or proper insurance coverage are your responsibility. Evidence of policy documentation will be required prior to the Cruise.
  • Cancellation by the Passenger: All requests for cancellation must be received in writing. Upon Adventure Canada receiving a written notice of cancellation at least 121 days prior to the Departure Date, you shall receive a refund of the amount paid for the Cruise and Charter Flight, less an administrative penalty of $1,000 USD per person, per Cruise. This administrative penalty will be held by Adventure Canada as a Future Travel Credit for a period of no longer than thirty months. If a written notice of cancellation is received by Adventure Canada between 91 and 120 days prior to the Departure Date, you shall receive a refund of 35% of the amount paid for the Cruise and Charter Flight, and no Future Travel Credit will be provided. In the event of a cancellation made 90 days or less before the scheduled date of departure, you will forfeit any amount paid for the Cruise to that date. For these and other reasons mentioned within these Terms and Conditions, you are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive cancellation insurance at the time of registration.
  • FTC eligible: This trip qualifies for a Future Travel Credit, and must be used within thirty months of the original Departure Date.
  • Age Restriction: The minimum age requirement is 5 years of age for travel. Children aged 5-7 must have their legal guardians sign a liability waiver.
