Birding the High Arctic & Northwest Territories 2019 picture This tour takes in three incredible regions: tundra above the Arctic Circle; boreal forest and lakes around Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, and the aspen parkland of Central Alberta.

Birders know the power of diversity! This tour offers opportunities to seek a diverse array of birds and mammals. Possible sightings include species ranging from king eiders to Pacific loons, snowy owls to northern saw-whet and great gray owls, long-tailed and parasitic jaegers, to Sabine's and Thayer’s gull. We may even spot muskoxen and Arctic foxes.

By visiting distinct eco-regions at each stop on the tour, from aspen parkland and potholes to boreal forest and high Arctic tundra, we will maximize our opportunities to see incredible bird and mammal species of Canada’s north.
