Regarding the recent news of the MS Explorer and it's troubles in the Antarctic region:
Please be advised that this voyage is in no way associated with Adventure Canada. We have been a charterer of the vessel in the past, primarily in the Canadian Arctic, Newfoundland and Western Europe. Adventure Canada does not staff the MS Explorer outside of it’s charter period, primarily in the months of August and September.
We are immensely relieved that all passengers and crew are safe. We are saddened by this situation befalling such a capable and historic vessel and offer our condolences to GAP Adventures.
We are currently making arrangements to secure alternate vessels for our 2008 Season and do not, at this time, believe that there will be a major interruption in our intended programming.
An agreement is already in place for Adventure Canada to move the majority of its shipboard programming to the Clipper Adventurer for the 2009 season.
