Don't forget to turn out your lights between 8:30-9:30 pm local time to show your support! Earth Hour is an annual international event created by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature/World Wildlife Fund), held on the last Saturday of March, that asks households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. Experience the effects of climate change and why your participation in Earth Hour is important with an expedition to the Arctic. Canada's Arctic is warming faster than anywhere else on the planet. In the past 30 years, 25% of Arctic sea ice has disappeared, pushing the polar bears to the brink of survival. On Adventure Canada's expeditions, you will get to see first hand the effects of climate change not only on the landscape and wildlife that inhabit our Arctic regions, but also on the Inuit who live there.
