Founded in 1990, PhotoSensitive is a non-profit collective of photographers committed to harnessing the power of the camera to achieve social goals. The Cancer Project is an initiative to increase Canadians' awareness of how deeply this disease affects our society. The goal is to engage Canadians in the fight against cancer through the faces of those closest to us – family, friends, neighbours, co-workers and colleagues – and their stories of hope, loss and survival. Participation in The Cancer Project is open to all Canadians. Photographs can be submitted in JPG format to james@photosensitive.com. They must be accompanied by a signed release form as well as a caption of around 30 words, giving a description of the photo's subject/s and how they have been affected by cancer. Closing date for submissions for the Toronto exhibition is February 29, 2008. PhotoSensitive also welcomes donations to help bring this ambitious project to fruition. The exhibit will be edited by PhotoSensitive. New West Coast Trip!
