Join our Tango Dancers at the Charles W. Stockey Centre for a performance,
dance and silent auction all in support of raising funds to keep equipment and services current at the West Parry Sound Health
Centre. "The Gala is designed with cottage life in mind. It begins at
6 p.m. so folks can enjoy the day on the Bay, and ends before 10 so
everyone is home in a timely fashion," said Executive Director Lynne
Atkinson as the WPSHC Foundation prepares to host this exotic gala
event. "Best of all it's a Thursday evening -- that means no one is
juggling weekend guests... they are the guest to a terrific summer's
evening on the Bay."
Raised in the Argentinean tango tradition the visiting dancers will embody its gritty refinement.
Sparking with the suppressed passion of elaborate courting rituals, the
two play out mini dramas: Fabian the tentative lover, Roxana the
controlling temptress. But don't just watch them. Let the
Foundation's experts help you perfect your footwork... it takes two to
tango and many more to transform the Stockey to a Milonga. Funds raised
will support the Foundation's Electronic Health Records Campaign.
Celebrity cottager Doris McCarthy has donated an original woodblock
print to the silent auction and there will be much, much more. The
event starts at 6 p.m. and tickets are $75.
